Today we focused on ‘Blooms Taxonomy’.
What is blooms taxonomy? This is a classification system used to define and distinguish different levels of human cognition - i.e thinking learning & understanding.
The following table by “tips.uark.edu” shows a visual of Bloom’s Taxonomy [Levels of thinking]
Understanding - This stage involves demonstrating understanding of facts and ideas by organizing, comparing, translating, interpreting, giving descriptions, and stating the main ideas.
Applying - This stage uses aquired knowledge, problem solving, identify connections and relationships and how they apply in new situations.
Evaluating - Entails the presenting and defining of opinions by making judgements about information, the validity of ideas or quality or work based on a set of criterias.
Creating- Building a structure or pattern from diverse elements, it also refers to the act of putting parts together to form a whole
Understanding the concept was great, but with explaining iHad to wait,
Using it in class iCan, think of the way iWant my students to think before iTake the pen out my hand,
Find the correct step and the correct way to use it then…. iWatch the minds work their magic like ink flowing from a pen.
