ABCD

The ABCD of learning Objectives.

What is the ABCD’s?
this stand for Audience, Behaviour, Confines or Condition and Degree.

We’re encouraged to have the ABCD in ALL our lesson plans clearly outlining each.

Audience - State who the task if for.
Behaviour - What action or how should A proceed with their given task?
Condition - State what are the legalities or boundaries for the given task.
Degree - How well should the task be done or to what extent.

For example: a teacher enters the classroom and writes on his blackboard for his students “Using your graded pencils, Draw a 3D shape with perfect form”

A - Students [ the teachers is writting the information on the board for the students following]

B - The desired behaviour by the teacher is “Drawing” hence this becomes the behavior.

C - "Using your graded pencils” this statements became the condition under which the task will be completed.

D - The degree or level required is “with perfect form”

Understanding this concept was simple and applying it was nice, to inplement this into my lesson plans you guessed it, iWont have to think twice.

Dear Devrin,

What a critical, creative, creature you are!

Exceptional students are most likely to be seen as special students, but I would like to say that they are Superb!!!

Keep the juices flowing, while blogging.

Thank you for such insightful reflections.
